Promit Roy joined BLAM Lab in September 2011 as a co-founder of the Kata Project.
Promit is the Technical Director for the Kata Project. Promit leads all of the software engineering and core technology for Kata and BLAM. His expertise is in software architecture and performance, particularly in games, 3D graphics and real-time applications across multiple platforms.
Promit’s prior work experience includes Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Day 1 Studios. At Day 1 Studios, he helped ship Fracture for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Promit is also the founder and technical director for the SlimDX Group, an open source effort collaboration. His community involvement includes a Moderator and editorial board position for GameDev.Net. Microsoft has awarded him DirectX/XNA MVP award from 2009 to 2012.
